Scope of Work: The ETIS Team is seeking a Supervisor to manage a department within the ETIS contract, encompassing approximately 35 team members. This department consists of engineers and technicians who execute specialized Contamination Control to maintain Cleanrooms and on space flight hardware such as; full satellites, sub-assemblies, components, or related hardware. Supervisory responsibilities also include oversight of the Thermal Blanket shop and CNC Machinists. Responsibilities: Serve as the focal point or reviewer for work requests and responses. Develops or reviews technical plan and budgetary/schedule estimate within a given Work Directive to complete request. Plans, organizes, and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in a specific technical function. Assists in developing Strategic and Tactical plans and updating biannually. Develops training plan and assures personnel are current on required certifications to engage in a specific technical function. Developing staff, mentoring, and providing career coaching. Overall responsibility for staffing to meet requirements. Establish and maintain schedules for the group to be consistent with budgetary and time constraints with emphasis on safety of operations. Work Control: Manages and reviews work to assure timeliness and accuracy of responsible department/function. Meets with other area supervisors for load leveling within the confines of the CBA. Elevate personnel funding issues in a timely manner to manager. Procurement Control: Responsible to assure that funding is available on WD prior to submittal for procurements. Cost Control: Responsible for WD maintenance. Work within the confines of task order provided by senior management, supporting and monitoring labor, materials and ODCs, such as travel and training using web-based tools. Approval of time records and requests for time off, PPE, training, etc. Procedural Compliance: Implement and maintain quality control in accordance with GSFC ISO 9001, maintain safety, quality, and environmental standards per ETIS III and GSFC policy. Assist employees with problem resolution; counsel employees and commend, or reprimand as appropriate; conduct performance evaluation interviews; seek interpretation of company policies, as required. Inform employees and enforce safety and environmental regulations; assure compliance with and actively support EEO/AA programs. Develop innovative approaches to non-routine, non-recurring work requests, based on acquired expertise and knowledge or organization philosophy and personnel capabilities. Perform any other related duties as may be required to meet objectives of the group, provide training; maintain appropriate records. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 8 Years' experience commensurate with skill level required for position as determined by management (i.e., direct supervisor, group lead, etc.). Education: Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent, highly desired but not required. Holding a bachelor's degree can offset the minimum number of required years for position by 4 years. Must be able to effectively communicate within each functional department, with customers', and with senior management. Ability to provide verbal and written instructions. Experience managing and/or coordinating represented workforce (5 + years preferred but not required). Familiarity with CBA protocol highly desired. Must be self-motivated and a "Team Player" with good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to organize time and assignments to prioritize efforts for maximum effectiveness. Must successfully complete assigned training or other required training or certifications as directed by ETIS III management. May need to travel. Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices. Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle. Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check. Preferred Requirements: Familiarity with flight and non-flight hardware processing highly desired. Familiarity with the overall integration workflow process highly desired. Familiarity with contamination control methodologies highly desired. Familiarity with the criticality of both integration and contamination control highly desired.
