Provide accounting services in an ethical, legal and moral manner, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or a related field Two years' experience in general accounting procedures or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Excellent organizational skills Proficient computer skills (Microsoft suites, accounting software) Self-starter with ability to work independently Ability to work within a team Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance Essential Responsibilities: Work hours prescribed by the Director of Finance and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned. Monthly Financial Statements - Prepare Journal Entries, Post Journal Entries, Upload Journal Entries, Reconcile accounts as assigned Calculate accrued expenses for month end recording Prepare Accrual Journal Entries Review journal entries for appropriateness/adherence to GAAP Approve journal entries Banking / Cash - Prepare daily or weekly deposits, Verify bank receipts, Reconcile cash receipts to cash journal posting, Approve cash journals Maintain check registers, Complete monthly bank reconciliations, Conduct petty cash audits Review and approve bank reconciliations Utilization Reporting - Prepare monthly fee for service utilization reports, Prepare monthly grant utilization reports, Prepare other reports as requested, Reconcile reports to revenue accounts Review, analyze and identify trends or problems relevant to utilization reports Identify opportunities for performance or process improvements in finance or at the program level Provide feedback to clinical teams File reports as required with funders Schedules and Reports - Prepare reconciliation schedules, Prepare other schedules as requested, Prepare and distribute internal financial statements Review, analyze and identify trends or problems relevant to schedules and reports Identify opportunities for performance or process improvements in finance or at the program level Provide feedback to clinical teams File reports as required with funders Annual Audit Prepare audit schedules as assigned Review and approve schedules Project Management Lead or participate in projects as needed New business lines Implementation of new technology Training on new procedures Provide backup support for Controller and Staff Accountants as needed Serve as a member of the Finance team and participate in all team meetings and activities. Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Ethics and with the framework of the law. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer. Serve as a role model for other staff, patients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned.
