Role at a Glance Purchasing resides at the heart of numerous Gecko activities, nationally and internationally. You will partner deeply with Field Operations, Engineering, Internal Operations, Product Development and Facilities. As a Purchasing Manager you will cultivate strong lines of communication and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to establish requirements and ensure compliance. As a cross-functional team member, you will be expected to reach beyond your department to help Gecko holistically run more efficiently and thoughtfully. What you will do Own the ongoing development and strategy within Purchasing including creating / revising processes, building tools to promote optimization, and assessing data to align priorities with team objectives Collaborate cross functionally to incorporate Purchasing activities within new product launches, support of satellite locations, cutting edge R&D projects, and inventory management Own execution of activities within the ERP System (NetSuite)including: Placing Purchase Orders Creating and onboarding New Vendors Creating and setting up New Items Collaborate with critical suppliers to establish processes and relationships that foster efficiency and accuracy to ensure that items arrive on time and in full Act as coach/mentor to colleagues on the Purchasing processes and strategy Represent Purchasing in cross functional meetings tasked with on boarding new satellite locations globally Technologies We Use NetSuite SalesForce Google WorkSpace (primary) Microsoft Office (secondary) Atlassian Suite (Confluence & Jira) Slack About You Required Skills 8-10+ years of purchasing or related experience Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability Ability to understand technical concepts and apply knowledge to procurement processes Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to build strong relationships and drive to consensus Highly resourceful and independent team-player, with the ability to operate autonomously and meet deadlines Must remain calm under pressure and enjoy thinking creatively, solving problems, and implementing process improvements Ability to multitask and prioritize work with a strong attention to detail Proven ability to flex and adapt to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response Ability and interest in being primarily in person in our HQ in Pittsburgh Preferred Skills Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field Previous experience reading and interpreting engineering diagrams and documentation Experience with Purchasing Electronic components (Highly preferred) Experience with Purchasing custom fabricated components (various materials) New product development + startup experience NetSuite experience (Highly preferred) Who We Are At Gecko, our people are our greatest investment.
