Customers Bank is looking to add a senior member to our Accounting and Finance team. We are adding a new position focused on overseeing the treasury functions for the Bank. The SVP: Deputy Treasurer will report directly to our Treasurer and will participate in guiding a team responsible for interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and AFS securities portfolio investments. As a Senior leader, you will be responsible for delivering transparency to senior management of risk exposure and return characteristics of financial resources deployed by CUBI to support its franchise. The role encompasses facilitating decisions related to our treasury team, hiring/training/mentoring staff members, attending all meetings related to the treasury and finance function, and collaborating with internal partners and clients to implement risk monitoring and measurement tools as well as to create organizational efficiencies. This position will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a high growth Bank with over 10 billion dollars in assets. Although this is a leadership role, this person will be hands on in all aspects, responsible for partnering with the treasurer to manage the day to day functions of the treasury department. Responsibilities: Partner with the Treasurer to effectively manage optimization of the Banks liquidity position, including how much liquidity buffer is appropriate, as well as how the liquidity should be deployed Partner with the Treasurer to effectively manage the AFS securities investment portfolio, implementing quantitative models to support making purchase and sale recommendations to ALCO as needed based on market conditions and strategic priorities Partner with the Treasurer to effectively manage interest rate risk so that the Bank remains relatively neutral to changes in market interest rates Collaborate with quantitative groups to develop and update operational deposit models and other predictive/behavioral models for measuring, managing, and forecasting liquidity and interest rate risk exposure Contribute to management of regulatory relationships, internal constituents, and presenting at senior management and Board committees Provide product sales support to private banker teams to assist in generating new banking depository and treasury management business from prospective private bank clients Directly interface with the Treasurer, CFO, CEO, and other senior leaders to provide regular insight and updates on status of Treasury-related activities, including interest rate risk, liquidity risk and the AFS investment portfolio as well as overall market conditions Full Engagement & Execution on all Strategic Business Development Initiatives Contribute to developing Liquidity and Capital stress testing and planning across all products, including development of stress scenarios, methodologies, collaborating with corporate planning and achieving business unit buy-in, and working with internal governance bodies and technology teams to deploy models and enhance policies and procedures Intraday liquidity management, including monitoring intraday liquidity risk Create and maintain solid working relationships with other team members across the Bank Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the Banks reputation and safeguarding Customers Bank, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Assist in preparation of materials as part of the annual external audits, rating agency reviews and regulatory exams. Assist in the completion of various ad hoc analyses/projects. Qualifications: 15+ years of experience of progressive financial experience with 10+ years in a treasury and liquidity function Experience with cash management, banking and client interfacing experience Strong knowledge of Treasury Management products, banking & the client sales cycle Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Strong leader and manager with experience managing large, national teams Deep content expertise across liquidity concepts, including market related businesses Prior interactions and demonstrated strength of credibility with regulators High degree of professionalism Builds robust working relationships with clients and internal colleagues Strong written, listening & verbal communication skills Excellent consultative selling & negotiation ability Attention to detail and consistent follow-up skills Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation or willingness to pursue within 1-2 years of hire Proficiency in MS Office. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Strong analytical skills. Knowledge of bank accounting and general banking operations preferred.
