Job Type Full-time Description Coburn Technologies, Inc. designs, engineers, manufactures and services computer-integrated optical lens processing systems and their related consumables and supplies. The Electro - Mechanical Assembler assembles and repairs electro-mechanical computer-controlled machine products, partially or completely, working at bench or on shop floor. Electro - Mechanical Assembler Essential Duties: • Works from blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operation or process sheets and verbal instruction to assemble parts, assemblies and complete machines. • Uses variety of hand and power tools in the assembly process. • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners and performs basic soldering. • Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to eliminate burrs and produce better fit between parts. • May repair parts and components to meet part specifications so that they can be used in machine assemblies Operates components, assemblies and machines for testing, quality control and calibration. • Maintains work cell area neat and organized. • Participates in events for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and operational efficiency. • May help construct tools, fixtures and other techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency of work methods. Requirements Electro - Mechanical Assembler requires: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years of related electro-mechanical assembly or repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, blueprints, drawings, process and calibration sheets. Ability to write simple correspondence and to communicate effectively with other assemblers, supervisors, engineering staff, and other personnel in the organization. Understanding of English to read and communicate. Mathematical and pneumatic skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability, to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to troubleshoot, understand and solve machine assembly problems. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: • Must be able to perform work that may be repetitive in nature and work that requires manual dexterity. • Must be able to work with minimal supervision. • Requires knowledge and use of Volt/Ohm meter and learn to use other instruments required in the day-to-day functions of the job. • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. • The employee frequently is required to stand for long period of time (2 to 3 hours), walk, sit, and talk or hear. • The employee must frequently lift and/or move parts and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds. This role operates equipment in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses tools and electrical components. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full time, hourly non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 40 hours per week.
