Weekly Pay! Pay Rate: $95,600-108,000 annually. SUMMARY: Identify environmental, health and safety risks, issues, develop mitigation strategies and to improve all aspects of the company's environmental, health and safety program DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, occupational diseases and near misses to determine root causes and preventive measures. • Report and/or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing. • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes. • Inspect facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. • Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. • Work closely with employees to identify issues and develop solutions. • Ensure that changes have been evaluated for EHS impacts and address as required. • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents. • Conduct safety audits throughout the facility • Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy and revise as necessary. • Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological hazards. • Conduct and/or direct testing of air quality, noise, and temperature levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations. • Verify that safety equipment such as hearing protection and respirators are available to employees and monitor their use of such equipment to ensure proper fit and use. • Prepare and review specifications and orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards. • Develop future permit applications and examine existing permits to ensure compliance with requirements. • Conduct fire drills and inspect fire suppression systems and portable fire systems to ensure that they are in working order. • Plan emergency response drills. • Maintain liaisons with outside organizations such as fire departments, and third-party contractors to facilitate emergency response. • Support company sustainability and social responsibility efforts to ensure company develops a competitive advantage, is in conformity with company's certification and sustainability programs, and is minimally in compliance with customer expectations. • Provide support and work closely with other company functions to ensure efforts remain in compliance with established EHS standards in product stewardship and innovation. • Drive employee involvement through various established safety and response teams • Maintain all required records and documentation. • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Environmental, safety, health, or related major. • 1-4 years of working experience in related field. • Certificates, licenses and registrations: APICS, CPA, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, etc. • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Frequently required to stand. • Continually required to walk. • Continually required to sit. • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. • Continually required to talk or hear. • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts. • Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals. • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 10 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus • Additional remarks regarding work environment: Typical office and plant environment.
