This position will be a part of the Revenue Excellence domain, with distinctive capabilities in the areas of revenue cycle management, pricing and growth. You will be on a team working on end to end revenue cycle transformations, including patient access, coding, clinical documentation, billing, A/R management, and related IT systems. You will manage projects that significantly improve revenue cycle performance, such as improved patient collections, reduced denial write-offs, increased accuracy of clinical documentation and coding, accelerated back-end cash collections; as well as drive development of technology assets that help our client teams fulfill these goals. Your impact within our firm You will work directly with client leaders and front-line operators to drive change that is critical to the successful realization of client company goals. In this role, you will be supporting healthcare providers with growing volume, optimizing price and capturing value. Our engagements are typically focused on growth solutions that leverage cutting edge assets and expertise, revenue cycle management capabilities across the value chain to ensure maximum value capture, or pricing capabilities that enable providers to excel along the full managed care contracting life cycle. You will be working on topics such as increasing payer yield, improving mid-cycle performance, or reducing cost to collection. You will ensure that success is a priority with our clients. You will engage at a deep level across our clients' businesses, working with small teams to build the capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver bottom-line results and then ensure those results are sustainable. Your work will be about problem solving, coaching, and delivering lasting outcomes to our healthcare clients. Please note that there is flexibility to hire at the Senior Analyst or Specialist level, depending on the candidate's experience. Your qualifications and skills Undergraduate degree; advanced degree is a plus, ideally in a quantitative discipline (statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, engineering, computer science) or a healthcare discipline 4+ years of professional experience in a healthcare environment with end-to-end revenue cycle transformation experience, including patient access, coding, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), billing, A/R management, and related IT systems History and/or exposure to managing projects or programs that significantly improved revenue cycle performance, e.g., improved patient collections, reduced denial write-offs, increased accuracy of clinical documentation and coding, accelerated back-end cash collections, etc. Familiarity with revenue cycle technology assets and concepts, e.g., point solutions and data interchange, ideally with exposure to product development or implementation Enthusiasm for intensely analytical work Understanding of statistical and advanced analytics methods, e.g., descriptive statistics, predictive analytics, and machine learning Experience sharing your views and perspectives with senior clients and colleagues Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Please review the additional requirements regarding essential job functions of McKinsey colleagues.
