The NowClinic Telemedicine team is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This provider will deliver primary care services to adult and pediatric patients via telephone and see patients in the NowClinic as needed. The NowClinic NP/PA utilizes triage and diagnostic experience/expertise to assess and treat patients presenting with primary care needs. In addition to addressing the presenting problem, the NowClinic Team provider will collaborate with the call center MAs and other extenders in the Telemedicine department. The NP/PA will utilize the telephone visit to engage patients in addressing wellness and gaps in preventive care and provide an excellent and satisfying customer experience. This is a per diem role that may involve varying shift days and times. The team is looking for someone with schedule flexibility, especially during the busy holiday season. This candidate should also have an active Nevada license with the expectation of obtaining others once employed. Primary Responsibilities: Provide primary care services to adult and pediatric patients via the Optum NowClinic virtual visit technology platform Using experience and expertise, engage, assess, triage and provide/prescribe treatment to patients presenting for care Using sound medical judgment, triage and direct patients to alternative levels of care for presenting problem and/or follow-up Utilize NowClinic technology to engage patients in addressing wellness and gaps in preventive care in accordance with evidence based practice and standards of care Utilize technology to thoroughly document visits and treatments in a timely and comprehensive manner in accordance with Optum NowClinic, medical group and regulatory requirements Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, and support staff Demonstrate and reinforce value of the NowClinic Team service during each visit Maintain service level standards for response, visit time, and patient satisfaction Demonstrate and foster a climate of collaboration and professionalism You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: National Nurse Practitioner certification in Adult, Family or Gerontology or Physician Assistant certification Active state license in the state of Nevada DEA license or ability to obtain prior to employment Intermediate level of proficiency in PC-based word processing including basic Microsoft Word and Outlook skills Flexible to work occasional weekends, holidays, and evening shifts Ability to work independently from home-based office Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of hands-on clinical experience Solid acute care experience in an urgent care, retail clinic or primary care clinic Knowledge of mental health issues Familiarity with ICD-10 coding Background in managed care Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $42.31 to $83.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
