Purpose of the Position The Mortgage Loan Closer plays a pivotal role in the mortgage loan process, serving as one of the final steps in the transaction. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all numbers and preparing all necessary documents for the loan closing. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with bank policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including loan officers, borrowers, title companies, loan processors, and internal teams, regarding the status of the loan file. Ensure loans close on or before the contractual closing date. Continuously monitor loan status to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met. Key Duties Collaborate with loan officers, borrowers, loan processors, and title companies to gather necessary items to complete the mortgage file. Collect and review all relevant closing information and figures for the Closing Disclosure. Prepare closing packages based on loan types, adhering to Bank, Investor, and Secondary Marketing guidelines. Review documents from attorneys or title companies, including title binders, surveys, insurance policies, and closing disclosures. Advise all parties promptly of any changes or issues to maintain high standards of communication and customer service. Conduct a pre-closing quality review of loan files before releasing the closing package. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of two years of mortgage loan closing experience or mortgage lending experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and loan origination software. Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Knowledge of mortgage loan compliance regulations. Highly desirable skills include proficiency with Encompass LOS, Microsoft Teams, and HMDA reporting experience. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
