With over 60 years of experience, Lapmaster has a proven history of successfully developing cost effective processing solutions for virtually any application requiring precision sizing, flatness, parallelism, roundness, straightness, or surface The Company is looking for a Full-Time Accounting Supervisor to join the team who is motivated, hardworking, and analytical. Core Job Functions: Position Description: Partner with the Financial Controller, Accounting Team, and business partners to ensure all accounting cycles are performed in a timely and accurate manner and supply relevant information in a timely manner to the business. Maintain the G/L and prepare the financial reports: Maintain and communicate the monthly close calendar: Ensure all steps required to close the general ledger and prepare the financial statements are included in the close calendar Sequence steps to achieve an efficient close Communicate the calendar and responsibilities Provide updates on the close to key stakeholders Maintain the list of one-time/non-recurring close tasks/journal entries Journal Entries/Account Reconciliation: Create/implement Lapmaster journal entry and reconciliations standards. Maintain a list of balance sheet account reconciliations and reconciliation assignments and monitor the completion of reconciliations. Calculate, prepare, review, post, and improve manual journal as assigned Prepare assigned financial statements and supporting schedules and partner with the Manager of consolidations to provide input into MD&A as required Support the development of a supply chain P&L that provides improved information over gross margin by line of business Partner with the business partners to ensure the reasonableness of material standards and develop/prepare reporting for purchasing variances Partner with the business partners to understand bill of material standards, routing standards, and absorption rates and develop/prepare reporting for manufacturing costs and variances Partner with the business partners to monitor warehousing and distribution costs and variances Administer key accounting systems: General Ledger: Chart of accounts, ledger periods, opening, and closing the subledgers Concur: Provision access to Concur Payroll: Register mapping to GL Other systems as needed Review and improve processes, analytics, and recordkeeping over accounting transactional cycles Review, perform, document, and improve financial controls Support the external audit by reviewing processes, controls, and preparing PBC schedules as requested by the external audit team Assist in projects to consolidate various ERP systems into a single system Prepare annual tax packages Request/maintain certificates of insurance Document key processes and procedures Other duties as assigned Position is a full time, onsite position and not remote Education / Experience: Bachelor's Degree in accounting and finance / CPA/CMA a plus Minimum 5+ years experience in a finance function in a manufacturing environment. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
