Independence Financial Advisors Position Description Financial Advisor Exempt Service Criteria Independence Financial Advisors (IFA) is searching for a Financial Advisor who is experienced, self-motivated and a strong problem solver, to join our growing wealth management firm. The candidate will work internally with a team of advisors to develop business and identify opportunities, analyze strategic options, generate exhibits and statements, advise clients, and manage implementation of client decisions in conjunction with the team. The candidate will be responsible to deliver customized plans tailored to meet each client's unique objectives. Supervisors, managers, and officers are furthermore responsible for conducting themselves according to the standards set in the FSB Pledge of Leadership, which they are expected to have a full understanding of. General Purpose IFA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Franklin Savings Bank, and is an independent, RIA firm, specializing in comprehensive financial planning and asset management, dedicated to building long-term client relationships. With offices all over NH, ours is a knowledge-diverse team of experienced advisors who have specialties in investments, taxes, insurance, small business management, and retirement planning. IFA is searching for a Financial Advisor to join our Rochester NH office, with an emphasis on cultivating new and existing business while working with the Senior Advisory team to satisfy our clients' sophisticated planning needs. The ideal candidate, who could be on an early-to-mid-career financial planning or money management track, will join a friendly and caring team, eager to share our experience and encouragement for this career. The essential duties of the Financial Advisor include, and are not limited to, planning, coordination and execution in the following areas: Financial Advisor Job Responsibilities: Cultivate and grow client base Draft and deliver financial plans for review Implement financial plans under the supervision of advisory team Participate in client meetings, deliver presentations and answer questions Take clients through reviews and follow-up/follow-through Understand and support the firm's vision, mission and strategy Participate in the completion of the firm's strategic initiatives Work with the team to grow the firm in a manner consistent with our vision Improve the referral stream through outstanding client service Financial Advisor Qualifications/Skills: • College degree preferred • Series 65 is a requirement of the job and is financially supported, as needed, by the firm. • Ideally, two or more years of client facing financial planning experience preferably for the benefit of individuals and families. • Foundational understanding of comprehensive financial planning and asset management • Expertise in client service • Strong Communication with clients and internally within the team • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering optimal client service. • Ability and desire to continue to learn and develop • Ability to spot inefficiencies (internal or external) and work with the team on process improvements • Demonstrated aptitude for financial planning disciplines including income taxes, investments, insurance, and trusts and estates. (Professional designations such as CFP® or MSFP or progress toward are a plus) • Proficiency in MS Office with a demonstrated aptitude for mathematics and Excel spreadsheets is necessary; experience with planning applications and RedTail is a plus. • Participate in client meetings, as necessary, with possible travel ( Compensation and benefits: This is a full time, in office position. Management a. Lead by example and in accordance with FSB's Pledge of Leadership and Pledge of Excellence. b. Provide guidance, leadership and vision to the IFA staff. c. Assess the needs of the IFA team and provide guidance to further their development, knowledge base and level of expertise. d. Monitor and oversee the implementation of all IFA policies and procedures. e. Work with the team to ensure all business activities are in strict accordance with all various regulatory requirements. f. Direct, monitor and appraise the performance of the IFA staff, including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions and interviewing candidates for employment. Working Conditions Minimal physical effort required with some lifting required with handling of light materials and supplies. Physical effort is involved with respect to dexterity and visual attention as needed for the frequent operation of personal computers and other office equipment.
