Summary Overall responsibility of leading the transition from new product development to manufacturing, providing daily manufacturing support for existing products and for developing, implementing and improving processes. This position drives continuous improvement through operational efficiencies and innovative engineering solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plans, designs, and coordinates integration of machinery and equipment into manufacturing process of industrial establishment, applying knowledge of engineering. Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machining and equipment. Oversees installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition. Recommends improvements in method, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Develops models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of system components and recommends implementation of improved procedures. Optimize manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes. Assist team leaders and team members in evaluating and implementing continuous improvement projects. Qualifications, Education, Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience with machining and/or tool making. Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metal working industry. Experience working with SolidWorks or AutoCad.
