Tax Director

DIRECTOR - TAX ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES : Understand rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA. Act as a strategic leader for the organization; identifies and drives initiatives on behalf of the firm. Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue. Participation with Firm ownership in development of organizational vision and operational strategies for the future growth of the Firm. Utilizes strong people leadership and communication skills to help lead departmental team, provide strategic guidance, and foster staff development through direct coaching. Provides advice, solutions and guidance for non-routine matters in the operation of the Firm. Act as trusted tax consultant for clients by researching various tax matters, responding to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client. Review tax returns, workpapers, adjusted trial balances, depreciation schedules. Maintain and further expertise pertinent to their practice or area of specialty, through training and other appropriate endeavors. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in accounting, Taxation, or a similar degree in business. CPA required. Strategic mindset of running a small public accounting firm; be able to see the "big picture." Ability to develop and build business relationships to sell and drive new business to the firm. Experience in managing a sizeable book of business. Have strong expertise with 8+ years of tax accounting experience Well-versed in Corporate, S Corporation and Partnership taxation. Experience in Trust taxation is a plus. Ability to manage concurrent projects Strong knowledge of accounting software, as well as Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite products.
