Cost Analyst, Chantilly, VA TS/SCI CI Poly Serves as the lead for project / program cost analysis in helping the management team make informed decisions. The candidate needs to be well-versed in data and financial analysis, and have strong attention to detail. The successful candidate is highly analytical and detail-orientated. The cost analyst prepares statements and reports, oversees audit files, attends meetings to provide financial feedback, and trains employees in cost management methods. The cost analyst will possess an in-depth knowledge of accounting and cost-management systems, as well as basic computer software. The successful candidate will also be an excellent communicator, with superb presentation and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities Recommend changes in operating procedures to improve efficiencies in procurement processes. When necessary, offer analytical support for projects. Coordinate with management to ensure cost forecasting reports are consistently checked and applied. Monitor and document actual and estimate reports. Stay up-to-date on project budgets and project spending. Examine data to help with reducing costs in all operations. Contribute to developing yearly operation plans, budgets, and estimating new project costs, including economic analysis. Gather and analyze financial data Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual costs. Help management make important decisions based on costs and benefits (e.g. investments, market growth, pricing changes) Conduct audits on financial processes Required Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field.
