SUMMARY: The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing process to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves managing production staff, maintaining equipment, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and driving continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include the following. Other duties may be assigned. •Production Oversight: Manage daily production activities to ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to quality specifications. •Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate production staff, including setting performance goals and conducting regular performance reviews. •Production Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals. •Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications. •Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. •Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies. •Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational effectiveness. •Cost Management: Manage production budgets, control costs, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. •Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and analyze production reports, including performance metrics, and provide insights to senior management. •Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with the Purchasing team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. •ERP Systems Proficiency: Utilize ERP systems (SAP) to track and manage production data and optimize resource allocation. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Production Manager is responsible for providing direction, coordination, and evaluation of the individuals within their team and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, directing work and appraising performance. COMPETENCIES •Analytical Skills: Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify trends and optimize production processes •Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to coordinate production activities and resolve issues in a timely manner. •Project Management: Proficiency in planning, executing, and monitoring production projects to ensure they meet deadlines and budget constraints. •Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate team to ensure alignment with production goals and objectives. •Technical Expertise: Knowledge of production technologies, equipment, and industry standards relevant to the manufacturing process. •Problem-Solving Abilities: Identify production bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and issues, and implement effective solutions to improve production efficiency and quality. •Quality Management: Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations throughout the production process to deliver high-quality products to customers. •Change Management: Ability to manage and adapt to change within the Manufacturing environment. This includes implementing new processes, technologies, or organizational changes effectively. •Flexibility and Adaptability: Being flexible in responding to changes in schedules, production demands, or unexpected events. This includes the ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: •Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. •Minimum of 5 years of meaningful, related experience within a manufacturing environment coupled with an understanding of business practices. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: •ERP systems (SAP) •Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt would be a plus TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Domestic and International travel as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and ability to interpret and execute order requirements for receipt and shipment of finished goods, raw materials, and supplies.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Proficient in the English language and ability to communicate in Spanish or German language is a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP and MS Office tools. COMPENSATION: After thorough market analysis, LAPP takes many factors into consideration when determining base salary such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, etc. of the candidate. The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $145,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
