Xavier University, a Jesuit Catholic university in Cincinnati, invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant III at the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice within the Division of Mission and Ministry. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Mission and Ministry/University Jesuit Chaplain and supports all of the Center's programming and operations. The Administrative Assistant III is responsible for the following major aspects of the Center's work: supporting the Associate VP/University Jesuit Chaplain, bookkeeping and accounting, hospitality, and management of student workers. This staff person will support programs through purchasing, contracts, accounting reconciliation and more, while also enjoying connecting students to programs and staff when they walk into our office. Responsibilities include: Working with the Associate Vice President and Director to manage budgets. Financial planning to meet internal spending goals and sustainably support programming. Managing the Center's purchasing through XavierBuy, the university's system. Reconciling expenses to university-wide accounting system and individual program budgets. Assisting with contracts, rentals, invoices, and purchase orders in support of our programming. Being a liaison to community partners and suppliers as they navigate Xavier's purchasing system. Answering the phone and general email; greeting walk-ins and connecting them to staff or programming. Supervising, hiring, and budgeting for student workers. Keeping calendars and expenses for the University Jesuit Chaplain, as well as other support services. The Dorothy Day Center for Faith & Justice (CFJ) helps students recognize meaning, discover purpose and work for a better world. As a Jesuit, Catholic University the CFJ develops students who encounter God, grow in faith and spirituality, and promote social justice. CFJ campus ministers support students through worship, retreats, pastoral care, service, and immersion experiences. An ideal candidate would have experience bookkeeping or managing internal accounting for an organization of our size.
