Manager, Procurement - New Product Development Brief Description The Sr. Manager, Product Development & Procurement, is a key leader in the Aerospace division. This person will play a key role in developing and driving implementation of the company's strategic vision. This person will also be responsible for providing procurement support for launching new product development projects in collaboration with Sales, Engineering and key customers. This position will also implement and support SIOP initiatives and improvements across the Aerospace Division; working closely with Sales and Marketing. This position reports directly to the Director, Supply Chain Management. Responsibilities Division level Supply Chain Management Excellence owner for Aerospace Product Development: This role is a key member for the New Product Development cross-functional Sales, Engineering and Operations teams, ensuring we plan for success as we launch new products. This role ensures the supply chain policy for product placement, lifecycle changes, master data management and product discontinuation in the end-to-end supply chain. Functioning with a category team this position will apply expert-level supply chain knowledge to guide key business decisions meeting strategic business goals. This position works with the Regional Supply Chain and Materials Teams to analyze supply base capacity and timing and establish the optimal supply chain design and project timeline. Align and facilitate the action of the plan with the team, communicating progress and maintaining plan timelines and customer delivery dates. The incumbent will partner with Materials Leaders to understand customer demand for new products and translate that information into accurate forecasts; works with Buyers to ensure proper PO placement to maintain sufficient inventory stock levels. Identifies cost-to-serve options and gain alignment with the business team to optimize profitability and customer delivery. Analyzes new material additions/releases for master data rule compliance and coordinate compliance with Purchasing and Operations. Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning: Coordinates and improves Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process; contributes to material procurement timing, order release timing requirements, available capacity (internal & vendor), & lead-times. Interacts with Sales to coordinate an overall production plan to meet Customer demand. Leads scheduling discussions with Sales, Supply Chain and Production to focus on a rolling 6-month outlook which feeds directly into the financial forecast for billings. Key stakeholder in the forecasting process and Demand Planning initiative. Performs inventory analysis, data collection, reporting and understands sourcing requirements. Leader in Supply Chain Excellence: Key leadership stakeholder for Strategic Planning and New Product Development Projects. Key owner of Supply Chain KPI's and regularly reports on internal and global KPIs. Will report to senior management on KPI trending and actions taken to improve KPI performance where it lags to targets. Working member of Policy Deployment Team focused on new product launches and improve vitality index performance. Acts as a liaison between Customer Service, Sales Administration, Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Logistics departments. Job Requirements, Desirable Capabilities, and Success Factors This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with an US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder. Bachelor's degree in Business, SCM, Project Management or similar degree from an accredited university or college. MBA desirable. Minimum of ten years of Supply Chain experience with history in new product development, product lifecycle management, materials change management and engineering change control. Strong project management skills supported by written and oral communication skills within internal and external cross-functional teams. Strong reasoning and problem solving to determine phase-in and phase-out date requirements. Ability to read/understand technical documents, as well as manufacturing reports. Demonstrated experience in Sales, Inventory and Operations (SIOP) Planning required. Proficiency with the use of Excel, Access, Project and MRP/ERP systems Lean Manufacturing background. Technical knowledge to read design prints and technical specifications. This position will work out of the Downers Grove IL facility; up to 30% travel required.
