W.S. Darley & Co. is looking for an Inside Account Manager to support the Army Team serviced by our Outside Sales Force. We are seeking a candidate that is highly motivated, detail orientated, works well in a team atmosphere, and has customer service experience. The Inside Account Manager will work with our Inside Account Manager on all sales opportunities from start to finish. About W.S. Darley & Co: Founded in 1908, W.S. Darley & Co. Darley Defense specializes in special operational equipment and fire and emergency services. Job Location: Itasca, IL or Remote Requirements Assisting Outside Sales Reps and Darley driven sales leads through the entire order process including, but not limited to: • Lead identification • Quoting- monitoring assigned Bid Boards/DIBBS Opportunities • Order entry • Customer service • Expediting • Follow up Create Revenue in assigned territory and develop relationships in the following areas: • Build cross functional relationships within Darley Defense in order to market key Products. • Assess customer situations and provide optional solutions • Expected to develop a strong understanding of territory and white space for targeted growth. • Some cold calling will be required when prospecting to find new customers and contacts within assigned region. Also responsible for expanding sales with existing accounts. • Responsible for generating a pipeline of opportunities to make annual goal • Utilize SalesForce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to manage and analyze customer interactions and data throughout the customer lifecycle. • Manage customer contact information • Measure success of sales and marketing campaigns • Organize customer interactions in a central location • Track organization trends • Help to understand customer preferences, habits, and actions • Manage customer service requests • Weaken expense and business risk Research Products and work with Vendors: • Make product suggestions and presentations based on the customer's mission needs • Bring in Subject Matter Experts as needed • Work with vendors to negotiate preferred pricing & delivery. Assist with capturing the Dealer of Record and sending to Vendor Relations for situational awareness • Advise Customers on selection of proper Funding or Contract Vehicles • Understand and articulate viable purchasing methods for the customer to assist the customer in determining which method is best for their mission and budget. • Must become the customer's contract expert. • Candidates must be detail oriented as they will be held responsible for contractual regulations passed on from the customer through awarded contracts • Respond to requests via phone, email, or in person meetings • Must be able to turn around quote requests quickly • Must be highly organized and able to demonstrate a track record of great follow-up • Must be able to develop excellent RELATIONSHIPS with customer base while still managing high volume of processing activities HOURS: 8 to 4:30pm on the phone and email contacting customers, but extended hours are necessary when customer needs arise. Travel: Some travel may be required for Trade Shows and occasional customer meetings. Education • Bachelor's Degree required, though prior military or government experience may be substituted at hiring manager's discretion Experience • 5 years of sales experience, non-call center telephone sales desired (B-to-B or B-to-G preferred) • 5 years of customer service experience • 5 years' experience MS Office, particularly Excel & Outlook • 2 years' experience with a Customer Relationship Management program. Skills • Must be able to operate in a completely unscripted environment • Must be able to creatively assess problems and provide solutions • Excellent verbal and written communication skills must be willing and able to talk to new people with ease • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and organized, able to manage competing priorities with relative comfort DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to make independent decisions with little direction.
