YOUR OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting Mid-West Foodservice Regional Sales Manager that will sit remote in one of these states, with travel in our Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri operations. The Food Service Regional Sales Manager is responsible for promoting and selling value added fresh pork and foodservice products to foodservice distributors as well as independent and multi-unit customer accounts in the domestic market, territory including Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. This position will manage food service markets and brokers which includes targeting, training, educating, and communicating product features and benefits to the broker organization, distributor community, and large volume operators. Effective management of markets will include development and execution of action plans for each market to assure focus on the operator, distributor, and multi-unit accounts. RESPONSIBILITIES Direct, sell, and promote the company's products to existing distributors and end user customers, multi-unit operators, and targeted prospects. Correspond with, manage, train and direct multiple field brokerage sales offices and broker sales representatives to include sales opportunities, sample utilization, and spend. Identify potential growth areas for both customers and products and develop execution plans to successfully capture the business. Work with the Sales Operations group to manage specifications, support product innovation, and manage inventories. Call prospective customers to explain types of products offered and their benefits to the customer versus the competition; quote prices and persuade customers to buy. Manage trade funds spending with both operator and distributor accounts. Develop of sales target forecasts, which includes volumetric, margin, and promotional spending targets. Work with Director of Foodservice Sales to develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve sales goals. Business Development for new and further penetrating of food service customer accounts -- operator and distributor. Manage Administrative Tasks including Customer Contracts, Sales Activity / Results Reporting, Key Customer Data Capture, and as otherwise directed by the Director of Foodservice. Execute against sales goals to achieve results, including but not limited to volume and margin objectives. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily. Required: 5+ years of successful sales within the protein industry; preferably foodservice fresh or further processed pork sales Ability to read and interpret price lists, availability reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to execute sales function in modern marketplace - include in-person and virtually Excellent listening, negotiating, presentation, and analytical skills required. Assertive personality with ethics and integrity. In-depth computer skills and Microsoft Office applications. 50% Travel Required Preferred: Minimum of a college degree in one of the following is preferred, but not essential for the right candidate; Business, Culinary Arts, or Marketing Basic knowledge of packing plant operations and pork product specifications preferred.
