We're actively seeking a talented Junior Credit Analyst to join our Private Asset Investment team in Newport Beach, CA. The Private Asset team manages a rapidly growing portfolio of over $20 billion of AUM and operates within the Pacific Life Investment division that manages over $130B of AUM. As a Junior Credit Analyst, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by supporting the evaluation and management of existing private fixed income investments. You will work closely within a team of senior analysts to analyze credit risk, monitor portfolio performance, and contribute to investment decisions. The Junior Analyst role is the first steppingstone to building a successful career as an investment professional. There will be opportunities to gain experience in various asset classes within the Investment division. This role is hybrid. The start date for this role is set for Spring 2025, and we are open to candidates who will be graduating in 2025. How you will make an impact: Support the credit analysis of private fixed-income investments including analyzing the overall financial strength and repayment ability of fixed-income issuers. Monitor and report on the performance of portfolio investments, identifying potential risks and opportunities, and translating quantitative and qualitative monitoring data into actionable insights. Collaborate with senior analysts to perform industry and market research. Collaborate with our legal team to monitor the compliance of counterparties with deal covenants. Participate in the installation, testing and evolution of new portfolio monitoring systems. The experience you will bring: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously What will make you stand out: Ability to be a self-starter with a curious mindset, capable of investigating complex issues, making connections, and uncovering insights. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
