Independence Plus is now hiring a full-time Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager. This position will be based out of our Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) office and reports to the Corporate Controller. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Independence Plus and its related entity are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting professional to join the Finance team. As a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in streamlining the company's processes and will take ownership of the day-to-day accounting as well as leading the month-end closing process. This person will be a self-starter and will be expected to take initiative around the company's accounting and finance operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain the books and records of the companies Prepare and process payroll Prepare monthly account reconciliations Review monthly journal entries, income and balance sheet statements, and account reconciliations to identify variances and discrepancies Complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes Prepare monthly quarterly, and annual financial statements Identify process efficiencies and improvements Assist with audits by coordinating with the Corporate Controller and external auditors Assist with tax preparation by partnering with external accountants to complete tax filings Analyze financial data and statements to identify trends, opportunities, and risks to provide actionable insights to support decision-making Evaluate and optimize accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability Develop reporting as needed and provide to management on a regular basis Various other tasks as needed, including ad-hoc analysis Requirements This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 3 - 5 years of professional experience as an Accountant working for small businesses while being primarily responsible for the company's accounting operations including A/P, A/R, treasury functions, inventory, month-end close, and assisting with preparing the company's tax returns Detail-oriented, highly organized, meticulous self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment Able to work effectively with all levels of an organization and manage relationships with external parties Strong excel skills Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll Experience with accounting software CPA is a plus If you have any questions, contact our Recruiting Department at (800) , Option 5, or .
