Role Acadia Realty Trust is currently seeking a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting. This position will take an active role in ensuring that significant transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and rules for public companies set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). In that regard, this role will assist with: Prepare and analyze SEC filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) with XBRL tagging, Press Release, Supplemental Report, and any other ad-hoc reporting forms that may be required Collaborate with Investor Relations, FP&A, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of external reporting deliverables Conduct research on technical GAAP accounting issues and material business issues and prepare well-written memoranda ensuring the appropriate accounting conclusions are reached Provide schedules and support for internal quarterly financial statement reporting package Ensure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Interact and coordinate with internal audit team Assist with the implementation of Climate Disclosure Rules Build and sustain relationships with cross functional teams to ensure complex arrangements are properly and efficiently implemented Coordinate with external audit firm during annual audit processes Other accounting and reporting related projects as needed The Company will consider candidates that possess the following characteristics: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent is required: CPA or equivalent is required A minimum of 4+ years of experience in public accounting working with SEC registered companies Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting and ability to apply technical accounting and financial reporting standards Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy Experience with the real estate industry is a plus Have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills The base salary compensation range for this role reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000. Employees are eligible to participate in an annual discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
