Python AWS Developer

Job Summary The Python AWS Developer will onboard and manage new cloud services for the organization, focusing primarily on AWS services. This role involves partnering with the cybersecurity risk team to analyze risks, implementing detection and prevention measures using Cloud Custodian, and contributing to the open-source project by writing Python code to enhance AWS service support. The developer will ensure that cloud services meet security standards and maintain a backlog of services requiring recertification. Key Responsibilities • Onboard and manage new AWS cloud services for the organization. • Partner with the cybersecurity risk team to assess risks and implement detection/prevention measures. • Develop and maintain Python scripts to interact with AWS cloud services and enforce policies. • Contribute to the open-source Cloud Custodian project, writing code to address security gaps. • Maintain a backlog of cloud services requiring recertification and ensure proper assessment of changes to existing services. • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement security policies and maintain compliance with industry standards. Required Qualifications • Strong Python development skills, particularly for cloud automation. • Extensive experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, IAM, networking, data sharing). • Understanding of identity and access management (IAM), including roles and policies. • Familiarity with DevOps and SecOps practices. • Experience writing code that interacts with AWS API libraries. • Passion for security and experience working in a security-focused role. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools like Cloud Custodian, Wiz, Aqua Security, or Prisma Cloud (Cloud Custodian preferred). • Background in cloud infrastructure and security. • DevOps or cloud infrastructure experience, with a focus on enforcing security policies.
