Role Summary: Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting and analysis related to investment accountingThis role specifically addresses the investments held in the General Account of the Life Co and its subsidiaries. Responsibilities: General Account: Prepare, review and validate Investments Schedules for Statutory Filings, including Investment Income Exhibits, Realized/Unrealized Gain/Loss Exhibits and prepare related footnote disclosures Perform the accounting and analysis for IMR and AVR Prepare monthly and quarterly accruals for various funds and investments Account for Limited Partnerships, Private Placements and other Alternative investments Prepare monthly accounting statements and ensure proper reinsurance settlements Prepare Fair Value adjustments required for impaired securities Review and correct vendor accounting data by performing validations and enhancing various pre-close tasks Coordinate and review the posting of the investment accounting JEs feed into NetSuite Assist with monitoring and replacing securities held in statutory deposits Validation of Clearwater's financial reports into NetSuite Validation of vendors' Tri-Party reports Conduct in depth month-end analysis of investment accounting results Other: Assist in establishing and documenting internal controls and procedures to safeguard the integrity of investment accounting data. Develop, standardize and streamline supporting workpapers to enhance the reconciliation, reporting and analysis of investment accounting processes. Assist in satisfying the requests of internal and external auditors. Assist Financial Reporting with completing rating agency surveys (i.e. S&P, Fitch, AM Best) Assist in strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of Investment Accounting. Required Qualifications: BS/BA Degree in Accounting Very strong investment accounting experience with 5+ years in insurance investment accounting for the General Account High technical aptitude Strong Excel skills Strong analytical and sound decision-making skills, ability to work independently Excellent written & oral communication with strong interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: CPA familiarity with VBA, SQL and Bloomberg functionality What we offer you: Competitive base salary Annual Bonus Comprehensive Benefits Package (medical, dental, and vision) that starts day one of employment 401(k) Match: You will be eligible to receive up to 9% of your pay (salary and incentive compensation) in Company contributions. A non-elective employer contribution of 3%, plus a 100% employer match on employee contributions of up to 6% of pay. Parental Leave: 8 weeks fully paid Paid time off: 20 days plus two floating personal holidays Competitive base salary The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this role. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, whereby total compensation may exceed this range depending on individual and / or company performance.
