The R&D and Packaging STEM Summer Intern Program consists of three pillars that make up the R&D function at The Este Lauder Companies: Research & Development Translates innovative ideas into breakthrough products & sustains them in market. Develops products that deliver the desired consumer performance & experience i.e fragrance, texture etc. Translates marketing or technical concepts into testing strategies and identifies insights to drive claim differentiation requirements. Packaging Responsible for ensuring quality & regulatory compliance of the package design, qualification & execution in an agile & robust manner Engineering Responsible for transferring a packaging concept through to a finished package design. Defines the component part materials, design, construction, supply & assembly to ensure robust, reliable manufacture with the desired quality, experience & performance characteristics. INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW: The R&D and Packaging Stem Summer Internship Program lasts 12 weeks and is based in Melville, New York or Blaine, Minnesota. As a R&D Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects that will support the team in reaching established goals and objectives directly relating to the success of the business. Selected candidates can expect: Ownership of high priority projects instrumental to the R&D function and business, working in collaboration with multiple teams and functions within the organization. State of the art research, equipment and skills training Networking opportunities through various planned events and activities to provide exposure to other facets of the company including senior management. Opportunities to share their learnings, ideas & insights directly with today's leaders of the organization Mentoring by seasoned R&D leaders Partnerships with other departments within the company to gain a greater understanding of R&D's role in the business Present to senior management at the end of the program Be eligible for a full-time or 2026 Summer Internship offer after your end-of-summer review #ELCUSInternships Qualifications: To be eligible for this summer internship opportunity you must be a current student with a May/June 2026 or later graduation date. Applicants must be majoring in Medical Illustration/ Medical Illustrator, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Polymer Science, Engineering and Management or Materials Science. Experience with Microsoft office Leadership and project management skills demonstrated through participation in extra-curricular activities or previous work experience Results oriented; ability to analyze and problem solve Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills IMPORTANT: To be eligible for this summer internship opportunity you must be a current student with a May/June 2026 or later graduation date. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $20.00 per hour- $33.00 per hour. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
