.Net Application Developer

Job title: POS Application Developer Job Location: Downtown Cleveland, OH Position Type: Full Time Department: IT Shift: First - On Site EMS is seeking a talented Microsoft based VB6 Developer with POS experience. As a developer, you'll be responsible for backend and frontend design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of existing and new features. You will also need to gather requirements, code, test, document and implement in a fast paced environment. You must be able to work closely with team members, developers, and management utilizing written and verbal communication skills as well as be able to function independently with a commitment to learning about EMS business in the finance and credit card industry. Essential Functions: Apply coding and analytical skills for efficient and accurate functionality Assist in the creation of general system design and technical specifications for the POS application and operating system, taking into consideration any limitations and network availability Test, debug, support and maintain existing application and support customer reported issues. Ability to integrate peripherals including printers, card terminals, measuring devices, etc. to the application via the OS Fluent understanding of the IP protocol and various Internet services Accountable for the performance, accuracy, and functionality of the POS application Communicate effectively with managers to provide progress updates, roadblocks, and offer suggestions & solutions Analyze existing code to determine where problems may occur and develop possible solutions Preparation of documentation for any proposed or existing application functionality Required: Degree in Computer Science or related field Proficiency in creation and maintenance of VB6 code and SourceSafe source control system 5 years of professional experience in VB6 based programming Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, looking for problems to solve with minimal supervision Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (MVS) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and the VB IDE Preferred: Experience with .Net technologies and Team Foundation Services Experience in the Financial industry and/or credit card processing Experience in the finance industry, in particular, credit and debit card processing Extensive employee benefit package including: Medical, dental, vision insurance 401k Sick Days, Vacation & Paid Time Off Interest but not sure?
