UFG is currently seeking a Marketing Project Manager who will oversee and lead the planning and execution of marketing and corporate communications projects, targeting independent agents, policyholders, employees, shareholders and the general public. This individual must understand and apply marketing and insurance concepts in a financial business environment, with the ability to plan and successfully execute multiple channel marketing campaigns. A key function of the MPM is to serve as a partner to internal customers, including underwriting, field operations, business enablement, surety, claims, human resources, learning and knowledge, accounting and community sponsorship, to develop a clear understanding of their marketing and communication needs. The position must effectively communicate their internal customers' needs to the corporate communications team for creative development. The MPM is responsible for initiating, planning and closing marketing projects and providing the coordination between key stakeholders to ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received. Responsibilities: Serve as the corporate marketing point of contact for requests/requirements. Conduct daily monitoring of workflow for the creative team of writers, designers and videographers, ensuring projects are adhering to deadlines and achieving objectives. Plan and execute marketing and communication project plans for strategic internal and external initiatives, including a heavy emphasis on collaboration and change management efforts. Work with corporate managers, department managers and other key stakeholders to evaluate the project impact, identify priority projects and gather marketing project requirements. Assist in the development of a creative brief which outlines all of the key messages and objectives for the project. Actively participate in download meetings with the creative team. Establish and maintain a list of marketing projects that reflect corporate strategic goals, market demands and business needs. Once marketing communications plan is approved by the internal client, manage the schedule of assets, creative specs, and deadlines. Adhere to project schedules and deadlines by ensuring client receives proposals/creative work, while monitoring and following up with key stakeholder through project completion. Communicate with key stakeholders on a regular basis. Establish long-term goals with internal clients that reflect anticipated future needs. Develop, lead, participate in, or oversee cross-functional project teams. Be an active, reliable and engaged participant in any project team. Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives Be punctual and respectful, affirming the corporate marketing department's commitment to developing positive relationships with all members of the organization. Apply project management best practices. Implement tactical solutions that support our brand strategy and strengthen our brand message. Monitor outside organizations' communications to ensure adherence to UFG brand guidelines. Strengthen the company's brand image across all mediums-both online and print-including website, blogs, social media, collateral, presentations, events and industry forums. Assist leadership teams so they can affect, implement and manage organizational and culture change. Maintain project management platform, including reporting and workflows. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, public relations or similar discipline required. Experience: 5 years of corporate marketing and/or communications experience required. Experience working in an agency environment or managing ad agency relationships in a corporate setting is a plus. Experience using project management software. Knowledge, skills & abilities: Direct coordination experience with internal communications preferred, including exposure to change management or digital transformation communication. Ability to plan and successfully execute multiple channel marketing campaigns. Strong understanding of advertising concepts and best practices, with the ability to apply them to the insurance industry. Working knowledge of advertising and graphic print production. Working knowledge of media buying preferred, but not required. General knowledge of state insurance advertising regulations. Ability to maintain a consistently positive attitude during pressure situations while providing the highest levels of customer service. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with people from many disciplines with varying degrees of business and technical experience; able to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm. Strong leadership and project management skills (e.g. organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management. Confidence and discipline to work independently and provide specific recommendations to senior management. Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, communication and time management skills. Working Conditions: General office conditions not typically subject to adverse environmental or hazardous conditions. Requires frequent and constant computer and phone usage.
