Material Manager Fully on-site Lighting Services Inc (LSI) is the premier manufacturer of Track, Accent, and Display Lighting Systems. Since 1958, LSI has been dedicated to designing, engineering, and manufacturing the highest quality lighting systems. LSI is seeking a Material Manager to join the Operations Dept. This role will work directly with the Operation Team and reports to the Vice- President of Operations. The anticipated annual salary for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. Responsibilities: 1. Collaborating with other managers to determine supply needs. 2. Purchasing supplies and materials according to specifications. 3. Evaluating suppliers based on delivery speed for their products and services, price and quality. 4. Interviewing vendors and visiting supplier distribution centers and plants to examine and learn about prices, products and services. 5. Attending conferences, trade shows and meetings to network with suppliers and learn about new industry trends. 6. Analyzing financial reports, price proposals and other information used to determine reasonable pricing. 7. Negotiating contracts for the organization and working out agreements with suppliers for product delivery 8. Meeting with vendors and staff to discuss unacceptable and defective products and establish corrective action. 9. Responsible for the DMR process from purchasing perspective. 10. Evaluating and monitoring contracts to ensure suppliers and vendors are complying with terms and conditions 11. Maintaining and reviewing records of inventories, product performance, deliveries, costs and items purchased. 12. Coordinating and supervising receiving and warehousing procedures. 13. Serve as a mentor to the Purchasing and Stock department to help them grow. 14. Familiar with barcode and cycle count inventory process. Required Experience/Skills: •Analytical skills for evaluating and choosing suppliers offering the best combination of service, delivery, quality and price. •Decision-making skills for making timely and informed decisions on selecting products they believe will sell. •Math skills for comparing prices from various suppliers and ensuring the organization is receiving the best deal. •Interpersonal skills, self-confidence and negotiating skills for establishing contracts with suppliers and vendors. •Five years or more experience in Management Inventory/Purchasing industry/Supply Chain. •Ability to form relationships outside of Operation team - particularly with the Engineering Department and Production floor. •Positive, organized leader able to collaborate and influence others.
