Job Description The Director of Cultivation is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cultivation and processing including crop steering, scheduling, genetics, harvest, dry, cure, trim, pack, quality assurance, compliance and management of the cultivation team The Director is responsible for overseeing day-to-day cultivation activities and adjusting workflow and procedures to increase yields, efficiency, and overall performance. The Director will lead and manage employees, ensuring that production goals are met and the operation is in full compliance with the state and local regulations. Job Functions Oversee daily cultivation operations for the facility, managing the plants through their entire life cycle from clone, vegetation, flower, harvest, dry, cure, trim and pack. Manage both the cultivation teams and processing teams. Consistently review the current system for operational efficiencies and recommend improvements. Develop methods to monitor and measure cultivation activity, identify areas of success and areas of opportunity. In conjunction with the CEO, establish key production metrics and report on them weekly. Ensure that the cultivation team is adhering to protocols and policies to ensure that production requirements are met Establish and review harvest schedules with the Processing Manager and sales team to ensure proper production and processing of material on schedule. Leveraging technology and automated systems, develop and implement procedures for optimal growing conditions and mitigation strategies as needed. Full responsibility for oversight and management of the facility, triaging system Establish, update and train staff on all standard operating procedures, including health, and safety requirements to monitor and ensure compliance. Establish cultivation standards and monitor and ensure compliance and communication including cultivation equipment specs and standards, nutrient and environmental protocols, and hygiene and safety policies and procedures. Submit weekly reports to CEO, subsidiary cultivation reports highlighting specifics of key items and metrics. Manage all consumables and non-cannabis inventory for the cultivation and oversee the purchasing and restocking of products. Additional duties as assigned by the CEO. Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older. Minimum 4 years' experience managing systems, staff and resources in a large-scale commercial greenhouse or agricultural operation, preferably cannabis. Minimum Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, or related field. Proficiency in cultivation techniques and processes, including pest management and testing Demonstrated mastery of growing methods, including in-depth knowledge of macro and micro nutrients, and beneficial bacterial and nutrient implementation. Knowledge of GMP guidelines Effective time management skills and ability to multitask. Ability to work in a fast paced, changing, and challenging environment.
