Supplies parts and/or material as needed to operators/associates as well as other duties as assigned. Direct supervision is provided by the shift supervisor, but the routine nature of the work allows for reasonable independent work scheduling within prescribed guidelines. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically capable of walking and pushing a cart for the entire work shift. Must be able to move up to 40 pounds. Repeated bending and lifting during the shift. Must be able to wear steel-toe footwear. Adequate visual acuity to qualify for a forklift license. Must be able to operate a pallet jack for product movement. Must be capable of climbing ladders/stairs for material changes. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Under general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks (check those that apply): Insure all components, cartons and packing material are at work stations as needed per the SLMS system. Follows utility route as instructed - removes finished goods and delivers to ship stage, supplies WIP parts and purchased components to assembly as ordered with kanbans. Uses Heijunka board to pace utility route. Activate flag/light as needed to indicate 'delay'condition Assists Paint Technicians with the start up of paint lines and associated equipment and mixing of paint. Some maintenance work required on paint equipment. Gauging; training; and assisting other utilities with material and material movement. Use and maintain equipment including Utility cart, supply Kanbans, Production Instruction KanBan, etc. Insure product is placed in designated WIP stores Insure all cartons and packing material are at workstations as needed. Insure cartons are labeled correctly per labeling procedures Maintain routes according to SLMS system Maintains general housekeeping. Uses utility knife to open and cut down packages of parts per safety procedures. Other work as assigned by supervisor. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices. A minimum score of 16 on the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS This position typically does not require any travel.
