Sterling Design Support Services (SDS2), a unit of iQuasar LLC for one of their clients is looking for a qualified Software Engineer II (Devops) to join our team. Focuses on automating the deployment of infrastructure, code, and applications, as well as image management, to streamline development and operational processes. Design and implement continuous integration (CI)/continuous deployment (CD) pipelines, maintain and optimize cloud environments, and ensure efficient configuration management. Activities involve working with third-party tools to manage scripts and automate and monitor deployment workflows, enhancing system reliability and scalability. Core responsibilities include proactively monitoring the health of deployments, identifying and resolving issues, and redeploying after remediation. Collaborates with development and operations teams to resolve issues, document processes, and continuously improve automation practices, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's technology infrastructure Position: Software Engineer II Location: Fort Meade, MD Position Type: On-Site Qualifications: Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience as related to capabilities above. Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Desired Skills: Automates the deployment of infrastructure, code, applications, and base images. Designs and implements CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and operational processes. Maintains and optimizes cloud environments for scalability and reliability. Ensures efficient configuration management using tools such as/similar to Ansible, Puppet, or Chef or current equivalent. Works with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and/or current equivalent to automate and monitor deployment workflows. Proactively monitors the health of deployments, identifying and resolving issues promptly. Redeploys applications and infrastructure after remediating any problems. Collaborates with development and operations teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Documents deployment processes, configurations, and remediation steps. Continuously improves automation practices to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness. Implements and manages logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure system health. Performs regular security assessments and ensures compliance with best practices. Provides support for infrastructure and deployment-related incidents and outages. Conducts performance tuning and optimization of deployed applications and infrastructure. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to bring innovative solutions to the team.
