Living Beyond Breast Cancer is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect people with trusted information and a community of support. LBBC is a growing organization and is hiring a Director, Human Resources to manage this critical function as a sole practitioner. The ideal candidate will help to ensure that we attract, retain, and support our team and will foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging so that all staff members can thrive. We currently have 34 staff members and are adding new positions. For more information, visit . LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphia in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania and is a hybrid workplace. Candidates for this position must be based within reasonable distance to work in our office regularly. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee all human resource-related activities for this busy, growing organization. Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention in order to ensure that these goals are met. Lead efforts to strengthen LBBC's culture, ensuring that all employees feel supported and valued, and understand their importance in the organization. Serve as a link between management and employees. Act as central resource for all employees on HR issues. Ensure that issues are managed completely and that employees involved are communicated with well. Manage part-time or contract support for HR activities. Own all employment related policies and procedures. Create and update these as necessary; communicate updates and changes across the organization. Ensure that the organization remains in compliance with all applicable legal requirements. Administer the organization's talent management program. Train staff on good management practices, oversee the annual review and goal setting process, and support career development for employees. Administer core compensation and benefits, including salary, health and ancillary benefits, and leave time. Oversee recruitment activities, from job posting creation, through the interview process and job offers. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; master's degree preferred. At least five years of human resource management experience required, including at least 5 years of employee relations experience. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP required; LBBC will pay for expenses related to maintaining certifications. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Highly skilled in managing up with abilities to influence, collaborate, and build trusting relationship to drive results. Strategic thinking with an eye toward equity in all you do. Highly motivated by and deeply committed to our organization's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work. Demonstrated experience leading change management. Demonstrated experience as a sole practitioner with the managerial track-record to lead part-time or contract support as the role expands. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS (ADP) and recruitment (ApplicantStack) systems. SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS The salary range begins at $90,000 per year.
