UCH is seeking a Plumbing Apprentice to join our team. The Plumbing Apprentice will work under the supervision of a licensed plumber to learn the trade and assist with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in plumbing while gaining valuable experience in plumbing as well as other trades. If you are a team player and can work independently, as well as on a crew, this position is for you! This individual will work on a variety of projects and must be familiar with residential, multifamily, and commercial property maintenance. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, multifamily, and commercial properties. Learn to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing diagrams. Support senior plumbers in assembling, installing, and troubleshooting plumbing systems and fixtures. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials to ensure they are clean and in working order. Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with all local and state regulations. Assist with diagnosing plumbing issues and making necessary repairs or adjustments. Keep work areas clean and organized. Attend and participate in all required training sessions and classes. Requirements: •High school diploma or equivalent. •Prior education or experience in the plumbing field. •Basic knowledge of plumbing trade including boiler and HVAC repair and installation. •Willingness to learn the plumbing trade through hands-on experience and classroom instruction. •Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. •Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. •Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English, and a positive attitude. •Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, outdoors). •Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Skills: Assist other trades personnel when needed to include carpentry, HVAC, general maintenance, appliance repair, snow/ice removal and other miscellaneous tasks or as directed by supervisor. Works alongside other technicians to ensure that maintenance repairs are completed efficiently and are in accordance with township code and safety regulations. Ability to be a team player and work towards common goals in a timely and constructive manner. Capable of prioritizing urgent projects and working in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
