We are currently assisting a reputable, growing client in Richmond, VA with its search for a dynamic Tax Manager who is ready to bring their expertise to its team and help shape the future of the firm. In this role, you'll lead a variety of tax planning and compliance engagements, provide strategic tax advice to a diverse portfolio of clients, and mentor junior staff to foster their development. Responsibilities: Direct engagement timelines, budgets, schedules, Associate reviews, and work papers Manage internal job scheduling by identifying staff competencies and schedules Be a compliance champion with federal, state, and local laws and regulations Assist with research and planning according to the current laws and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Build and maintain client relationships by strategizing methods to minimize tax liabilities in accordance with current tax laws Support Partners and Directors with audits, proposals, and other practice development and marketing activities What You Need To Be Successful: A Bachelors or Master's degree in accounting or related program 7+ years of public accounting or related experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred Willingness to stay up to date through continuing education and continuous reading of professional journals What Our Client offers: Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401K retirement savings plan Annual compensation adjustments based on individual and firm performance Profit sharing program Financial support for continuing education programs and professional certifications Please send a pdf or MS Word version of your resume to cvanschaften at vaco for review and consideration
