Summary Our marketing team is expanding! We are looking for a Senior Director of Marketing Communications to lead and manage our marketing communications team. In this role, you will develop strategic objectives and execute initiatives that shape our global Life Sciences marketing communications strategy. You will oversee the team's marketing content creation, creative projects, digital marketing, analytics, and customer-facing events. This position requires cross-functional leadership to align with internal business functions, support global Life Sciences Business Imperatives, understand and meet current customer needs, acquire new customers, and drive new solutions and cross-selling within the Life Sciences portfolio. Additionally, you will be responsible for global brand management activities. *This position is located at the STERIS headquarters in Mentor, OH with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule. You will travel both domestically and globally for sales meetings and leadership meetings approximately 20% throughout the year. What will you do as a Sr. Director, Marketing Communications? Marketing Strategy * Develop and execute the Global Life Sciences marketing strategy. * Partner with Sales, Customer Operations, Marketing, Technical Services, and Product Management to create tools and materials. * Support corporate marketing strategies, including brand management and trademark/copyright protection. * Identify and resolve issues, collaborating with peers for successful strategy and product launch execution. Cross-Functional Support of Business Imperatives * Collaborate with Life Sciences leadership to monitor industry trends and identify market opportunities. * Guide and influence cross-functional groups to align with global business imperatives and STERIS-wide initiatives. * Develop Life Sciences value propositions across Consumables, Equipment, and Services portfolios. Marketing Team Leadership and Development * Manage and develop the global marketing communications team through coaching, feedback, and development plans. * Lead recruitment and retention efforts, supporting BU goals and DEI initiatives Strategic Thought Partnership * Serve as a strategic partner and communications strategist to the Sr. VP/GM and Vice Presidents. * Review competitive activities and develop strategies to defend the LS position. * Prioritize media opportunities and prepare talking points and presentations for senior leadership. Brand and Digital Platform Management * Ensure brand consistency across all Life Sciences markets. * Oversee vendor relationships and technology platforms. * Lead customer acquisition and demand generation activities, including marketing automation, tradeshows, and customer-facing events. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed * Experience: Minimum 15 years in marketing and/or product management, preferably in a global Life Sciences environment. * Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA in Marketing, or a life sciences-related field (e.g., Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering) preferred. * Experience growing (adding to staff), leading and retaining a team of marketing professionals required. * Skills: Strong problem-solving, negotiation, analytical, and project management abilities. * Strategic Planning: Proven ability to plan, execute, and achieve sales and profit targets, along with associated performance metrics. * Organizational Effectiveness: Demonstrated effectiveness across all areas impacting product lines. * Technical Aptitude: High technical proficiency and ability to multitask. * Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Leadership: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of motivating cross-functional teams. * Technical Competency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
