The Faculty, Networking & Cybersecurity primary responsibilities include designing and implementing learning strategies for students in the Networking & Cybersecurity Program; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; student recruitment, advisement and retention; developing and evaluating courses, programs and services; participating in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College. This position reports directly to the Division Chair, Math, Science, Business & Technology. What you'll do on a typical day Note : This position Has a Sign On Bonus of $ 5,000 The position includes instruction in the traditional and online learning environments in addition to fostering relationships with business and industry. A full-time faculty position at Davidson-Davie Community College is a nine-month contract. Teach at various instructional sites and in multiple delivery formats as needed to meet the scheduling needs of students and programs. Maintaining currency in one's teaching discipline and in the issues of higher education. Collaborating with colleagues across the College to identify and provide appropriate resources that promote student learning and completion. Engaging collaboratively with colleagues by using data-informed decision-making to continually improve courses and programs. Integrating appropriate instructional technology and instructional materials to enhance student learning outcomes and promote student success. Fostering equity and respect for diversity among students with a focus on student learning. Ensuring timely, consistent, and feedback and accurate record keeping in support of student success.continuing professional development related to the curriculum content. Your attributes Minimum Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in an Information Technology or Computer Science related field At least two years of experience in an IT-related field Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Information Technology, Industrial Technology, Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field with 18 graduate credit hours in Information Technology or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution Industry certifications (ex. CompTIA, CISCO, Microsoft, etc.) Teaching experience in a community college or related work experience Experience teaching Information Technology and/or Computer Science classes Work environment ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
