AARP's Community, State and National Affairs (CSN) Group includes Government Relations, Programs, Volunteer Engagement, Community Outreach and Advocacy at the federal, state and local levels. It delivers on AARP's social mission by educating and engaging people 50-plus and their families, strengthening communities, and championing issues that help give people financial and health security. The Business Technology Director position is a role in the office of Volunteer Engagement within AARP's Community, States, and National Affairs unit (CSN). The Office of Volunteer Engagement is responsible for providing comprehensive volunteer support services, including outreach engagement, leadership development, resource provision, and technology application management. The Director indirectly leads the Volunteer Portal matrix capability/product team and application, and all interfacing systems to meet new and emerging volunteer and volunteer driven program needs. Additionally, this role owns all facets of the product lifecycle from ideation, roadmap creation, strategic planning, new feature implementation and on-going support; establishes and delivers on outcomes and metrics; cultivates deep understanding of business stakeholders including assessing needs, identifying pain points/barriers, ideating value proposition and solutions, and assisting in estimating demand; determines the best technical approach for meeting constituent needs including new features and on-going enablers. Responsibilities Leads the management of existing business applications, legacy systems, databases, and web interfaces to meet new and emerging business unit/department needs. Acts as a business liaison with technology and vendors to help facilitate and translate business needs into functional requirements. Participates in application implementation and development projects. Collaborates with senior management to develop and execute strategic technology initiatives that position the organization for success. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, the Humanities or a related field. 5+ years of consumer-facing product management experience. 5+ years of experience in the use of agile delivery methodologies. 5+ years of experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders, including regular communication with executive leadership. 4+ years of experience delivering applications/solutions and products using Salesforce Sales or Service Cloud.
