About the position SmartBear is looking to hire a Corporate Director of FP&A to propel its finance function into the next phase of growth. This is a hands-on financial management position that maintains ownership and responsibility of the corporate financial model and drives the development of reporting and financial narrative for the Executive Leadership team and Board of Directors. The Corporate FP&A Director is responsible for the overall annual planning and quarterly forecast cycles and drives the usage of financial and operational KPIs through financial reporting, analysis and business-driven insights. The role also oversees the Business Partnering function within FP&A and requires strong understanding of business strategies and priorities across the business. This role reports to the VP of FP&A and has two direct reports. This is a high-impact role that will offer substantial senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to impact strategic decision making in a hyper-growth environment at scale. The ideal candidate has experience collaborating with leadership across all functions, can drive change management as a thought leader, sharing perspectives, best practices and resources, and is an excellent communicator. Responsibilities: Proactively collaborate, influence, and align the company's planning processes to achieve the overall company strategy. Partner with each function to align business, operational and financial planning and assist with trade-offs to achieve ultimate company objectives and ROI. Partner with business and M&A team to manage / deliver financial models; Support / lead due diligence and integration efforts for finance. Work to provide deeper insights that will help business partners make smarter decisions and guide to budget. Continue to enhance financial systems and business processes for continued efficiency within the finance team to provide further visibility / value to the business. Manage the annual financial planning process. Ownership and innovation of the total company forecasting model, including consolidations, scenario planning, reporting, variance analyses, etc. Lead, monitor and update budgeting/forecasting across all departments. Lead the preparation of materials for board meetings. Oversee Company's consolidated monthly/quarterly budget vs actual variance analysis, including key metrics that tie back to financial goals. Implement process improvements across the organization for operations to run smoothly and with greater efficiency. Lead, motivate and develop the Corporate & Business Partner FP&A team and help drive finance initiatives / projects. Qualifications: A minimum of 8 years experience in FP&A, with at least 3 years running Corporate FP&A with increasing responsibilities and proven track record of driving change. At least 1-2 years of experience operating in a SaaS environment for a global software company. Demonstrated success leading financial functions at businesses of different stages - the ideal candidate has experience operating in finance at scale, but also providing leadership for an earlier stage, high growth company. Sound understanding of the SaaS business model and key metrics. Cross-functional collaboration skills with demonstrated experience working with all business functions. Executive-level communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings; experience with Board of Directors, a plus. Extensive experience with presentations to senior management, with extraordinary detail orientation and strong data visualization skills. Strategic planning, modeling and analytical ability. Experience managing small to midsize teams. Prior experience with Planful or other EPM tool. BA in finance, accounting, or business - MBA a plus. This role is based hybrid out of Somerville, MA.
