About the job Controller About the Role The Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing all accounting and financial reporting functions, including the preparation of financial transactions and reports, as well as the coordination of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings and audits. Acting as a strategic partner, this role provides leadership and guidance in financial activities, working closely with site leadership, various departments, and employees across all levels to drive growth and implement key company initiatives. Responsibilities: Establish and maintain financial systems, schedules, and metrics to provide regular updates on the company's financial position to management; ensure that all processes are well-documented and comply with internal controls. Lead the development of financial forecasts, annual budgets, and capital budgets; collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate monthly financial results and implement strategies for cost reduction and improved performance. Oversee all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account variance analysis, and audit coordination. Ensure the availability of sufficient funds for operational and capital investment needs, and plan for both short-term and long-term financing. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as professional financial standards. Establish and enforce financial controls to safeguard company assets. Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and conduct risk analyses to inform business decisions. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing company policies and procedures. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. Strong understanding of accounting principles, including standard costing and financial regulations. Proficiency in ERP system implementation. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on data management. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks. Experience managing financial reporting during critical periods, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements. Flexibility to work outside standard hours during peak reporting periods.
