Marketing and Communications Manager - Pharmacy Salary: Commensurate with experience Benefits: Generousbenefits include paid time off including holidays and vacation, retirementmatch, and tuition remission for employee and dependents. /benefits Location: Office of the Dean, School of Pharmacy Position Status: Full-time Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Position Number: 438523/10-982 FLSA Status: Exempt POSITIONSUMMARY: The Marketing and CommunicationsManager (MCM) is critical to the success of School marketing and communicationsefforts. The MCM assists in the successful implementation of marketing plans;communications and engagement strategies; and various School events. The MCM isresponsible for the management of content creation, social media management,website maintenance, project management of collateral material, event supportand publicity. Underthe guidance of the Director of Business, Administration and Marketing, the MCMis responsible for developing, managing and continuously improving the Schoolssocial media platforms, web pages, promotional videos and other online contentwith the goal of producing internal and external messages of the highestquality that are consistent with the mission, institutional identity,positioning and strategic priorities of the School and Duquesne University andtargeting various audiences-ensuring appropriate tone and style-on multipleplatforms. The MCM will be evaluated based on their ability to meet established goals and through feedback from appropriate constituencies. Work will be reviewed through regularly scheduled meetings, reports, analysis, and observation of results. DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES: Copywritingand Proofreading Specialists Writes clear, persuasive, original copy for the printed materials, web, social media, email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and press releases. Research and verify facts, and interview faculty, staff and students when needed. Writes scripts for video content necessary to support our strategic growth objectives. Proofreads copy supplied by multiple sources to check spelling and grammar. Social Media Specialist Leads the strategy, creation, execution, and delivery of social media the latest social media strategies and techniques, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and more. Monitors effective benchmarks and best practices for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyzes, reviews, and reports on the effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results. Monitors social media analytics, reporting regularly on performance and adjusting strategy to continuously improve results. Optimizes messaging based on feedback, testing and best practices. Web and GraphicsSpecialists Research, create, write, edit, and constantly improve compelling copy for the websites, social media platforms, and digital and print publications. Manages and continuously reviews and improves the usability, design, content, graphics, videos, and photography of the website. Ability to create web graphics to promote events, stories, and testimonials. Project Management Develops and implements projects- with a special emphasis on recruitment- from concept to completion, including message development, writing, project management, client interaction and other related duties. Serve as the liaison to the Department of Marketing and Communications Works with individuals to improve the quality of marketing efforts for the departments and programs of the University he/she is assigned to and ensure that their marketing plans are aligned with the University brand. Articles/Publicity Interview faculty and alumni and write articles to be included on the School's web page and social media as well as external outlets. Submit news articles and publicity information regarding faculty and student accomplishments to appropriate trade publications. Govern information for publications, articles/news and website, including solicits, composes, proofreads and edits information into the proper formats. Completes other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with aconcentration in one or more of the following: marketing, communications, ormultimedia/journalism and 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, socialmedia management, or related field. The successful candidate must possess experience writing andediting web, digital technology and marketing content; strong organizationalskills and attention to detail; excellent communications skills; and excellentcustomer service skills. Depending on the nature of the particular project, theManager may act as a project manager, consultant, advisor, creative director,web programmer, and/or copywriter on any given marketing initiative. Preferred qualifications: A master's degree from an accredited institution. Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following: Competitive candidates will also have andprovide examples of excellent writing and editing skills; a strong workingknowledge of current web technologies and social media management; impeccablegrammar, an eye for typographical errors, and strong attention to detail; experiencemanaging social media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, andInstagram; an ability to communicate the benefits of a Duquesne education toprospective undergraduate and graduate students; a working knowledge of HTML,and other popular web languages; experience with Content Management Systems;experience with web analytics software; ability to create graphics for the weband print; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications; anunderstanding of how digital marketing aligns with an integrated marketingplan.
