As the Mortgage Loan Consultant, you may look forward to: Teaming with a seasoned loan officer to learn how to originate loans and build knowledge of the Mortgage business. Assisting mentor with providing service to applicants and prospective customers seeking home loan, including interviewing, pre-qualification and pre-approval. Assisting the Mortgage Loan Officer with marketing and promotion of the Loan Officer's business. During the training period, all Mortgage leads will be referred to the mentoring Loan Officer. Once released from training, your mentor will review: Completes application and gathers supporting documentation. Reviews and completes regulatory disclosures with customer. Reviews and completes appropriate loan level regulatory tests for compliance. Maintains existing and generates new sources of referral business. Quotes interest rates and secures pricing through the Secondary Marketing Department on behalf of the Customer. Utilizes automated underwriting systems (AUS) to obtain credit recommendations. Collecting required application fees. Inputting application data into Loan Origination Software (LOS). Communicating with customers, both internal and external, regarding the status of the loan and relays information to all interested parties. Communicating with all parties in a professional and courteous manner. Managing your pipeline of loans to verify accuracy of the current loan status. Acknowledging and abiding by TowneBank Mortgage Policies and Procedures. Relaying to Senior Management any industry changes or trends that may be of interest to them. Participating in TowneBank, TowneBank Mortgage, and area association events. Representing the bank with active participation in approved community outreach functions for the purpose of enhancing our image and developing new business opportunities. Obeys all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). You are a person that (required skills): Has or is willing to complete training program to obtain NMLS/MLO/state license Has a High School Diploma or equivalent Has excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills Is able to perform in a fast-paced environment typical to Mortgage Banking Is a team player, problem solver and self-motivated You'll be better prepared if you (desired skills): Have a Bachelor's Degree Have previous experience in financial services, real estate, lending institutions, credit union, or related fields Have customer service and/or sales experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Physically you can anticipate to: Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this job.
