Credit Manager Forest City Trading Group (FCTG) , as an employee-owned organization, is among the largest lumber wholesale distributors in the US with roots going back to the 1960's. At $7 billion in revenue and growing, we facilitate distribution of products across 6 continents through our network of 13 operating companies and close to 700 employees. SIFP as an Operating Company within FCTG has roots that go back 40 years. We are located in Nashua NH and are well established as an industry leader in the import and distribution of forest products across the US and Canada. We serve a variety of markets including industrial, construction, and building materials. Position Summary The credit manager plays a key role in the risk management of our company. In this role they will work closely with both, trading and operational staff, as well senior leadership. They will be responsible for all credit activities from investigations to collections on delinquent accounts. Specific activities may include, but are not limited to: Investigate the financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit and communicate this back to traders and external customers Maintain and update credit reporting files through Bectran, a file management platform Manage customer and AR portfolio risk in accordance with goals and objectives of the company while adhering to the credit policy Provide weekly AR updates to SIFP leadership Control and release orders for customers based on their current credit status Calculate and charge interest for past due payments Direct daily activity of credit and collections analyst Work closely with our corporate and sister company credit managers to ensure overall corporate risk is adequately managed Manage our Credit Insurance Policy, including maintaining the relationship with our Credit Insurance partner Knowledge/Skills/Personality Ability to read and interpret financial information to aid in the decision-making process Experience working with credit agencies (D&B, Experion, & NACM) Ability to make credit recommendations for new and existing customers based on all available information Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to perform in a collaborative environment and maintain a positive approach in communicating findings to customers, traders, and leadership Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred Knowledge of bankruptcy laws and practices Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in credit management, can substitute education for more extensive experience Experience in the wholesale distribution or building materials industry a plus Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
