Structure The Associate Director of Development for the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center (UCCC) is an exempt (salaried) position employed by the University of Cincinnati Foundation (UCF) and reports to the Executive Director of Development for the UCCC. Focus The Associate Director of Development, UCCC is responsible for implementing successful fundraising strategies for cancer research, education and patient care across the Academic Health Enterprise, which includes the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, UC College of Medicine and UC Health. This role will focus on developing relationships with physician champions, engaging with grateful patients, alumni and community partners, to secure funding to support institutional priorities in the field of cancer. A heavy emphasis will be placed on qualifying individuals and building a pipeline of major gift donors. Specific Duties Work closely with the Executive Director of Development, UCCC to develop, implement, and reach metric driven financial targets commensurate with the UCCC team's overarching goals. Build and maintain an active portfolio of major gift ($50K+) prospects through a robust schedule of personal visits and strategic interactions. Foster productive partnerships with UCCC clinician champions to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and close gifts to fund priority programs. Ensure appropriate stewardship of gifts and donors in portfolio. Work collaboratively with UCF departments and fundraising specialists (prospect development, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, and national programs) to enhance fundraising revenue and donor impact. Maintain donor files and reports related to UCF, the Academic Health Center and UC Health fundraising programs. Maintain confidentiality regarding Personal Health Information (PHI) and protect the lawful privacy of colleagues and donors. Complete other special assignments relating to awareness, involvement and support as requested by faculty, in close collaboration with the UCCC fundraising team. Other duties, as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of progressive fundraising experience or advanced degree with 2-3 years of experience, preferably in an academic medical setting. Record of successful gift solicitations and closures. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to interact favorably with a diverse group of individuals and to foster strong, productive relationships. Understanding of basic scientific principles. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Blackbaud products or other CRM software. Willingness to travel and attend evening and weekend activities as needed. What We Offer: The anticipated starting salary range for the Associate Director of Development, UCCC role is $60,000-$75,000 annually. When determining final offer amount the UC Foundation considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
