GENERAL PURPOSE: The Strategy Analyst will play a key role in helping Ross continue to support its overall strategy, which is to present the customer with attractive bargains on apparel and goods for the home. The Strategy group addresses significant strategic issues for the company that are identified by senior level executives. The Strategy Analyst will report to a Director of Strategy but will work with different project teams and managers. The Strategy Analyst should expect to interact frequently with key functions (Merchandising, Planning, HR, Operations, Finance) and work closely with Strategy team members in both New York and Dublin, CA. The base salary range for this role is $75,700 to $113,650. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Support key cross-functional initiatives • Coordinate analysis for select cross-functional initiatives (e.g., Merchant process and tool enhancements, business growth projections, roll-out strategy for new business opportunities). • Support implementation of initiatives through development of change management materials, training, and focus groups. • Work closely with Merchants and Planners, but may also touch other areas of the business such as store operations, supply chain, etc. Perform practical, action oriented, and comprehensive data analysis in support of Strategic business initiatives • Conduct analysis - including pulling data, building models and analyzing financial, operational or statistical data - to support key strategic priorities for the Company (working in conjunction with Strategy team members and other key senior executives). • Develop compelling materials to communicate results of analysis and key insights (e.g., Board meetings, Buyer meetings) Analyze business problems and develop insights into root causes and improvement opportunities • Understand the off-price business and diagnose key business problems. Create and execute plans to gather data and develop practical solutions Monitor ongoing and ad hoc internal and external events • Provide ad hoc business and competitive intelligence and insights for key senior executives: e.g., new store performance, competitive information. Must be able to communicate effectively with Merchants. • Outstanding analytical ability: Must have a data driven approach to solving problems. Requires very strong quantitative skills and a good sense of how to dissect problems. • Must be able to set priorities while conducting analysis to quickly arrive at an actionable solution. • Detail-oriented approach: Must pay close attention to details and have the drive to get things right. • Strong fundamental business skills - must be Excel and PowerPoint proficient • Clear understanding of basic financial, statistical and economic concepts PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA: Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically. This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
