Job Overview: The Director of Operations is a critical role for our client, responsible for leading the service and installation departments, ensuring the successful execution of division goals. This role focuses on operational excellence in project delivery, client relationship management, and optimizing branch and division performance. Ideal candidates will have a background in mechanical contracting, strong leadership skills, and a track record of driving results in the refrigeration and HVAC industry. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the service and installation departments, ensuring on-time, budget-compliant, high-quality project delivery. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for operational efficiency and safety. Drive P&L targets and optimize resource allocation to meet divisional objectives. Oversee and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity and service quality. Collaborate cross-functionally with other leaders to enhance overall alignment and efficiency. Set performance expectations, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Resolve escalated client issues and implement corrective actions to improve service. Recruit, train, and manage staff performance, making recommendations for career growth or corrective actions as needed. Stay current with industry trends, integrating innovative practices into operations. Perform other assigned duties. Requirements Include: Education: High School Diploma or GED required; associate, bachelor's, or MBA preferred. Experience: 7+ years in a related operational role with HVAC/refrigeration industry knowledge. 3+ years of experience managing large, decentralized teams, including remote staff. Skills: Proficiency with Office 365, Sage ERP, Salesforce CRM, and automated project management tools. Advanced understanding of project management, customer relationship management (CRM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration projects. Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team. Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP, PMI) or similar is preferred. Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of project estimation, labor forecasting, and financial reporting. Key Competencies: Leadership and Accountability: Ability to set and communicate expectations, fostering accountability and a high-performance culture. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret data to drive operational improvements. Communication: Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills for client and team engagement. Project Management: Proficient in managing complex projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
