Summary/Purpose: The Executive Sales Director Industrial OE & Aftermarket is responsible for maintaining current and growing new business in JTEKT North America's three U.S. and Canada industrial markets: Industrial OE, Industrial Aftermarket including Aerospace, and Automotive Aftermarket. In this role the ESD leads the planning, development and implementation of customer growth strategies. This position is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Industrial Sales team and has dotted line responsibility for the Plymouth, MI based Customer Service team serving the three industrial markets. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: Lead and support the Regional Sales Directors, Sales Teams and Customer Service to be best in class. Strive to make JTEKT NA Industrial Sales a recommended employer of choice for current and future associates, the place where driven, self-actualized people want to work. Proactively and positively lead the organization to become the supplier of choice for key customers and for the overall marketplace. Align with the JNA and global organization on business growth and profit objectives by market, product type and desired customer portfolio. Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to achieve the company's sales and profit goals. Collaborate and partner with other functional leaders and groups such as the Business Units, Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing to ensure strategic and tactical alignment. Communicate with JJP (JTEKT Japan) to develop and strengthen partnerships with appropriate JJP contacts. Establish a highly effective, efficient team that can focus on growing customer relationships at all levels and on finding and winning opportunities. Establish sales responsibilities, quotas and goals for direct reports. Create comprehensive and accurate business plans and assures performance to plan. Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions. Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction. Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities. Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises a number of directors, and professional staff. Responsible for supervising employees in accordance with JNA policies and procedures. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Positive attitude, highly motivated, and high energy level. • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales monitoring systems. • Understanding of the Industrial customer expectations. • Experience with budget preparation, planning, and cost control. • Ability to work in a participative, team-based environment to maintain a drive for goal achievement. • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and leadership skills. • Must be able to maintain a team atmosphere and positive work environment. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Excellent decision making skills in an environment requiring quick response. Education and Experience: • Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or Business Management with 15+ years of solid sales experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA is strongly preferred • Minimum of five years of related experience as a senior departmental director preferred. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment. • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of prescribed PPE. • Travel by automobile and plane both domestic and international up to 70% of time.
