Salary Rate $61,901.69-$79,848.88 Essential Functions: Determines eligibility, acceptance, and placement for individual(s) with substance use issues by performing intake and assessments, completing an ASAM criteria assessment. Coordinates with internal team to identify recovery plan goals and coordinates closely with internal medical care coordinator to ensure all domains of client recovery are incorporated into the treatment planning. Develops treatment plans that are driven by the client and encompass change management practices including the use of motivational interviewing. Assists clients in creating treatment plans, monitors treatment plan progress, and maintains progress notes. Provides case management assessment of individual needs, makes referrals for services when appropriate, completes chart forms and documentation. Provides counseling and alcohol/drug education to program participants, including individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling/family unity meetings, and relapse prevention/crisis intervention. Consults with community resources and outside agencies such as community corrections, courts, probation officers, Social Security Administration, Department of Human Services. Makes court appearances and provides testimony consistent with confidentiality obligations when requested by the Tribe. Provides written status reports to probation officers, courts, and referents. Participates on a multiple disciplinary team with medical staff to ensure that clients are engaging in treatment and making necessary progress towards their recovery goals. Understands the role of dosing, and levels that clients will work towards to earn their take home dosing. Participates in regular team meetings and continual process improvement as the clinic grows and develops. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Education, Experience, and Licenses: High School Diploma or GED required. Two years of experience effectively collaborating with fellow behavioral health clinicians and other health care professionals preferred. Or equivalent of education, training, and experience. MHACBO education and certification requirements apply to all candidates considered for this position. Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications: Certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I, II, or III). Requires two (2) years abstinence from alcohol and chemical dependency (if recovering person). Adherences to the organization's policies and procedures covering the privacy, access, and client health information in compliance with Federal and state laws and the healthcare organization's information privacy practices. Must have a working knowledge of the Privacy Act/HIPPA and its applications. CPR /First Aid certified required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Must maintain throughout employment. Must have strong interpersonal skills working with individuals from diverse Must respect all others regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or income Must possess a strong knowledge base of medications to aid in the recovery process. Requires working knowledge and proficiency in use of office equipment and computer software such as Microsoft products. Must have the ability to resolve conflict while utilizing conflict management philosophies. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, business and telephone etiquette. Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and record keeping skills. Must have ability to respond courteously and tactfully to complaints and client requests. Electronic Health Record (EHR) knowledge is highly desirable. Preferably with NextGen or Methasoft. Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture is required. Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements: Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication. Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks. Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally. Occasionally requires lifting of up to 10 pounds. Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations. This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions. Local travel and is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is occasionally required.
