RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and provide rigorous, engaging instruction addressing student Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and NYS curriculum standards. Use culturally and linguistically responsive practices to instruct students of varying cultural backgrounds. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers and support staff to provide a team-oriented approach. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, strengths, and needs. Prepare trimester and annual progress reports. Complete student IEPs, including present levels of performance, goals and classroom accommodations using Frontline IEP (formerly IEP Direct). Collect and record data regarding student progress toward IEP goals. Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology as needed to address student needs. Participate in Instructional Support Team (IST) meetings to provide pre-referral strategies and interventions to support students in general education settings. Use a variety of interventions to support progress towards goals before considering more restrictive placements. Implement data-driven interventions to address gaps in learning due to COVID-19 pandemic. Demonstrate a reflective mindset towards his/her instructional practice.
