Security Benefit is looking for a Senior Data Architect for our Data Integrations and Technology Tools Team. SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas or remote for the perfect candidate. Who Are We? What Does the Job Look Like? This position is responsible for the creation, maintenance and surrounding integrations of multiple applications in the Derivatives. These include AWS Cloud / DevOps, SQL Databases, Bloomberg and Data warehouses. These applications have an impact across all Security Benefit Derivatives departments. Design and develop scalable, high-performance data architectures on the cloud data platform to meet the evolving business needs and data growth. Lead the implementation of analytical data solutions, including data modeling, schema design, and data integration pipelines. Provide direction on adoption of Cloud technologies and industry best practices in the field of data warehouse architecture and modelling. Optimize data storage, data retrieval, and query performance to ensure the efficient processing of large-scale datasets. Implement and maintain robust data security practices, including data encryption, role-based access controls, and data privacy measures, to safeguard sensitive information. Develop and maintain documentation of the data architecture, data flow and data models of the data warehouse appropriate for various audiences. Design end-to-end data integration architectures, considering data sources, data transformation, data mapping, and data delivery to meet business objectives Develop and maintain complex front-ends in-house-built applications and tools that streamline development and support processes and troubleshoot the issues by debugging the application code, reproducing the problems, and providing solutions focused on user experience. Understand application security & change management guidelines and maintain appropriate controls are implemented and followed. Develop GitLab CI/CD automation scripts Coordinate with multiple technology teams such as Network, Security, and Architecture in an Agile environment Documentation of analysis, problem resolution, design and development Supports applications in multiple environments with coding, testing, peer reviews, documentation, defect root cause analysis, and troubleshooting as required Who Are You? Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Information Systems or related field preferred Experience with serverless technologies and redefining legacy applications to the serverless architecture 5 years of Programming experience in C# or Python and cloud data solution architectures like Snowflake or RedShift or Hadoop 5 years in cloud environment like AWS or Azure Develop end to end design of data and analytics solutions by translating business requirements into technical specifications Experience designing solutions leveraging a diverse assortment of data sources, formats, and architectural patterns including batch, streaming, and transactional Understanding of data governance, data dictionaries, data security, and Master Data Management Implement solutions for data warehousing, data lakes, and data marts. Optimize Database performance through proper configuration and query tuning. Manage data storage and compute resources to balance cost and performance. Experience migrating and integrating to multiple data platforms Proficiency in SQL and other data querying languages and any cloud platform Good written communication skills to document the observations in a post-mortem report Experience working in Agile project environment What Can Security Benefit Offer You?
