Welcome to Zufall Health! Position Summary The SVP of External Affairs (SVPEA) leads, in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zufall's externally facing strategy including communications, advocacy and governmental relations, grant writing, development, and outreach/community engagement. The SVPEA will also serve as the Director for the Zufall Health Foundation. The Zufall Health Foundation's mission is solely to provide financial and volunteer support for Zufall Health. Through relationship building and cultivation, the Foundation develops and maintains strategic partnerships and raises funds to strengthen the community health services provided by Zufall Health and contribute to the health center's long-term sustainability. Under the direction of the CEO, and in collaboration with the Foundation Board, the Foundation Director provides administrative leadership necessary to drive the strategic direction and operational management of the Foundation. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities In collaboration with Zufall's CEO, key senior leadership staff, and the Foundation Board, the SVPEA is responsible for the following: Provide external leadership for Zufall attracting and stewarding decision makers, funders, elected officials, and other community partners and serving as a principal point person to promote programmatic efforts and other strategic priorities of the organization. Collaboratively articulate, implement and operationalize Zufall's strategic mission and goals to facilitate programmatic and strategic growth. Ensure maximum innovation and impact by cultivating all forms of support while meeting the requirements of funders, grantors, and donors. Oversee the creation, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive marketing and communications program that will enhance the mission and the organization's position with existing and new audiences. Develop, oversee, and evaluate multiple strategies to raise funds from a broad base of individuals, institutions, corporations, foundations, and government across the service area and beyond. Cultivate deep and effective relationships with key governmental stakeholders across Zufall's service area. Initiate engagement with designated officials on matters related to key policy issues related to community health centers. Supervise the the Outreach team to ensure alignment with agency strategic goals and alignment of message with Zufall's overall communications plan. Supervise a collaborative staff including the Communications, Grants, Development, and Outreach/Community Engagement teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with Foundation Trustees including Trustee recruitment and facilitation of Foundation Board meetings. Perform other duties and activities as directed by Zufall's CEO Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of community health, public health and/or some clinical background preferred. Advocacy and health policy knowledge and experience preferred. Experience in the use of computerized donor database systems required. High energy, self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent public speaking and writing skills, time management and organizational abilities. Learn and apply the trauma informed care principles with the scope of my position. Education, Training, and Experience Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams, with a minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience required. Experience in external affairs, communications, fundraising, or related fields, preferably within the healthcare or nonprofit sector. Proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies to enhance organizational visibility and engagement with diverse stakeholders. Experience in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, government officials, and community partners to support organizational objectives and sustainability goals. As a condition of employment, we require that all staff are fully vaccinated against flu.
